Hisako and Joe started on their journey together in the corn fields of Iowa and have been slowly making their way around the world ever since. This site is dedicated to helping those who want to travel around the world and reporting on their travels which started in 2010. They decided to drop everything they were doing in downtown Tokyo and hit the road for an indefinite period of time.
For the two of them, they hit a crossroads in our lives between trying to decide what they wanted to do with their lives and feeling like their lives in Tokyo were starting to flat line. The solution for them was to shake things up and see what challenges the world can present them with to help them stretch their minds. Their primary reason behind traveling has been about trying to find out what kind of things they like and don’t like in this world to give them some direction. Secondary to this is just trying to open our eyes and take in all of the wonders that the world has to offer. Their motto has been to try and do things they can’t see doing once they have children. (Amendment to this point: after 3 months on the road it seems like there is a lot more we can do with kids than we previously thought possible. Or new motto we just stole from Nike.)
